Delaware. I doubt if Nissan could sell an auto light in the US that didn't meet federal DOT standards. You may have just run into an ignorant bureaucrat. Nevertheless he's creating a very real problem for you where there should be none. Delaware state regulations for car lights must be available to the public somewhere. My advice, if your problem persists, get in touch with someone in the Delaware DOT to find out where you can read the regulations for yourself and learn the truth in the matter. Good luck.
